Taking the Higher Ground

Sometimes in life it is more noble, worthwhile and productive if you swallow your pride and take the higher ground, rather than be petty, negative or try to show everyone that you are right.

Every day there are stresses, pressure and unfairness in our lives but those who are able to stay positive and focus on their goals are life's true champions. In order to attain your goals you need to have the ability to distinguish between what's right and what's wrong. There are no shortcuts to success and achieving your goals is not always easy.

Doing the right thing takes courage, strength and resolve, traits that are not always easy to execute on a day-in, day-out basis. However, having principles and acting on them can lead to greatness. Principles truly mean something when exercised when inconvenient and sometimes through enduring personal sacrifices. At the end of the day you have to be able to live with yourself and sleep at night.

However, life's heroes, people who inspire others, are those who are able to do the right thing, stand up for principles and maintain integrity throughout scrutiny to create a better world for us all.

Remember that when you feel you have sacrificed something for the greater good just know that others have sacrificed a lot more for a lot less.
